Web Design

What is Web

In essence, the Web, or World Wide Web (W3), is an Internet server infrastructure that supports specially formatted documents. Documents are formatted in an HTML (Hypertext Mark-up Language) mark-up language, which facilitates links to other documents, as well as graphics, audio, and video files.

What is Web Design

The method of making websites is web design. It includes many different areas, including the architecture of the web page, the creation of content and graphic design. Technically, web design is a branch of the wider web creation category. The method of web design uses methods to adequately structure data, using sufficient tools to serve on web sites, so that the user can achieve his target in a straightforward and friendly manner.

Web designers need to build Web apps without understanding in advance the web browsers to be used, the technical framework on which the software would operate, such as operating systems, user’s personal interests, access device resolution, and the features and speed of the internet access.

Principles of Good Websites Design

An efficient website design should serve its intended purpose by conveying its unique message while engaging the user at the same time. Several aspects contribute to good website design, such as clarity, colours, typography, graphics, simplicity and functionality. Some rules that will assist you when considering your next web project are below.

Website Purpose

Having a simple clear intent on all pages will allow the user to communicate with what you need to offer. There are several different uses that websites may have, but all websites have key purposes that are similar which is:

  • Describing Expertise
  • Building Your Reputation
  • Generating Leads
  • Sales and After Care

1) Simplicity

When contemplating the user interface and the accessibility of the website, consistency is the only way to go. Ways to achieve simplicity by design are offered below.

  • Colour

Colour has the ability to express messages and elicit psychological responses. Finding a colour palette that matches your brand will allow you to affect the behaviour of your client towards your brand. Keep the range of colours restricted to fewer than five colours.

  • Type

On your website, typography has an important role to play. It demands focus and serves as the voice of the brands' visual perception. Typefaces should be legible and use a limit of 3 separate website fonts only.

  • Imagery

Any graphic feature used in correspondence is imagery. Photography, image, animation and other types of graphics are also included.

2) Navigation

In order to attract users, website navigation is important. Visitors will give up and find what they need elsewhere if the navigation of websites is overwhelming. It is crucial to keep navigation simple, intuitive and consistent on every page.

3) F-Shaped Pattern Reading

The most common way visitors scan text on a website is to use the F- based pattern. In the West (left to right and top to bottom), the F 'shaped layout imitates our natural reading pattern. A successful website architecture can work with a natural pattern of searching the page for readers.

4) Visual Hierarchy

Visual hierarchy is the order of priority in the organisation of elements. This is done by size, colour, image, contrast, whitespace, texture and style, typographically. One of the visual hierarchy's most important tasks is to create a focus point; this tells visitors where the most important data is.

5) Content

There is both great design and great content to an effective web design. Great content can draw and influence tourists by turning them into clients through the use of persuasive words.

6) Grid Based Layout

The grid-based architecture integrates material into a smooth, rigid grid system with columns, parts that coordinate and feel balanced, and sets order and results in an aesthetically pleasing website.

7) Load Time

Waiting for a page to load can result in tourists being delayed. Almost half of web visitors expect a site to load in 2 seconds or less, and within 3 seconds they may leave a site that is not loaded. It can help to load the site quicker by minimising image sizes.

8) Mobile Friendly

In order to browse the internet, more users use their phones or other computers. Constructing your website with a responsive layout where your website can adapt to different screens is important to consider.
