Apple Clips

What are apple app clips?

Apple Clips provide a fast and efficient way for users to access what the app has to offer. An App Clip is part of the original's module thus enabling the user to access parts of its functions. As technology advances app clips might become more and more relevant as users can use them without spending much effort for example when renting a bicycle, take-outs in a restaurant, users will be able to experience it from minutes to a matter of seconds. Finally, when the user is done experiencing what the app clips have to offer it will then provide the option to download the full app from the App Store.

Part of an app

Due to App Clips being a part of a whole module of an app it is able to provide limited functions of the original. The IOS SDK is what's used in the development of the full app alongside the app clip.

Full app

App Clips are what provide an opportunity for a quick demo on what the corresponding app has to offer, saving your time by allowing you to affirm its value towards the user and fasten the user thinking cycle to promote the user to download the full app. This opens up the possibility of giving a user an introduction before transitioning it to the full app

Function focus

App CLips are commonly known for the execution of a single task. This is due to the focus of design in the App Clip to execute a task as quickly and efficiently as possible. These factors allow users to execute and complete their designated tasks within seconds.

App Clip Codes

App Clip Codes is made with a distinct design to allow the user to be able to recognize them with ease. This allows a fast and secure demo of the corresponding App Clip for user’s usage.

App CLip codes are visually designed with their own unique invocation URL. In addition, it is able to be embedded with an NFC tag which allows the invocation of its designated URL. An app clip code with and without an embedded NFC tag is called differently while the former is called an NFC-integrated App Clip Code, the latter is called a scan-only App Clip Code. The indication on the center image of an app clip code is what indicates how a user should interact with the code for example:

  • MFC tags

Users only need a simple tap of their iPhone on the NFC tag to launch the app clip

  • QR codes

Allows the execution of App Clip with just a scan with either a barcode reader or camera app

  • Safari App

When configured on the webpage integrated with a Smart app Banner the user just need to tap on it to open the app clip

  • Links

Once sharing is enabled in the designed app clip the user can send it via message where the receiver can open it to launch it
